Band Profile: Kwerdas playing in Makati, QC, Manila, Alabang, NCR

The Group Kwerdas is composed of four seasoned musicians focused on a constant growth musically. Though the band has only been together for three years, they all came from different professional groups adding up to their musicality and experience today.

Every performance to the group is like the last. Kwerdas’s music grows on you, spontaneously energized with the fusion of rhythmic and percussive beats.

Driven by their intense passion and craving for the craft, Kwerdas has taken acoustic music to unimaginable levels. By bridging decades of timeless songs, giving music a new flavor and color.

Their approach to playing their music remains unpredictable, as an individual’s mood constantly changing.  
 

Pete Canzon (Sax)

He’s not human…

Anyone who plays a saxophone made back in the 1920’s must have the right to romance such a classic. Haunting as the magical notes that comes from his instrument. This guy rules!

Pete has given a new name to what we might call Jazz music.

The sax might have been made popular for this type of genre, but jazz is not the only type of music the sax is good for.

Pete breaks all barriers weaving scales like alchemic melodies from the core of his being.
 

Ryan Ignacio (Percussions)

How does he do that?

Ryan pounds on a wooden box called a Kahon, which is a Filipino word meaning a box.

It was only recently when he shifted from playing the conventional drum set that he gave up the sticks this time using his bare hands he explored the unlimited sounds a kahon can produce.

Surely enough combined with a few other percussive gadgets Ryan never seize to amaze his audience making the Kahon a magical box. 

Sharico Pascual (Bassist)
He keeps the group grounded.

Iko supplies the group and the entire room with the low end of things.

Equipped with a rare 5 stringed bass guitar made in France he keeps the balance & chemistry of the group.

His intensity for music growth is unmatched by other bassist of his age, being the youngest in the group his growing appetite for musical advancement has earned him his unchallenged seat with Kwerdas. 

Bernard Bismark (Guitars/Vocals)

He’s not your ordinary talent.

There’s something about the voice that captures an audience and makes the listener relate to his vocal approach.

Bo can be somewhat hypnotic with his style of vocalizing.

Always pushing the edge of singing, stretching notes and melodies like echoes from the soul.

Plus a very unorthodox percussive style guitar playing completes his creative modes during performances.

This guy is definitely Not Of This Earth!
